Early Voting Ends Thursday In City Run Off

Early voting ends this week for the City of Lawrenceburg run-off election, scheduled in order to fill Commission Seat II on the Lawrenceburg Board of Mayor and Commissioners.

The run-off is being held between candidates Robin Williams and William “Bid” Lindsey. During the May 1 city election Williams garnered a total of 770 votes while 538 voters chose Lindsey. With two other candidates in the race, however, Williams failed to gain the 51% required under city statutes.

The two-week early voting period which began on Wednesday, May 16, will end this Thursday, May 31. The run-off election is scheduled for Tuesday, June 5. Polls will be open at all ten precincts within the Lawrenceburg City Limits that day from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Those wishing to participate in early voting should bring their voter registration cards to the Office of the Election Commission, 225 Centennial Boulevard, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays. The office is closed between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. for lunch.
